Mini Parks

Your Park:

Located at the State Road 3 and 38 intersection, this park welcomes visitors to our community.  Although small, this park consists of beautiful flower beds, flag pole and monument and one covered picnic shelter.  There's plenty of space to put down a blanket and take a break from the hustle and bustle.  There are currently no reservations needed to use the facilities at this park.

Hospital Heights Park:

Located on Alabama Street just east of the Henry County Memorial Hospital.  A neighborhood park consisting of a large playground area, covered picnic shelter, and open space for neighborhood football or soccer games.  The residents of this area take pride in the park, pitching in to keep it clean and safe for the children.

Murphey Park:

Located on Grand Avenue and South 15th Street, the 3 acres of ground for this park was purchased in 1928 from William J. Murphey and consisted of 3 acres of ground.  Many years later, the city gave a large portion of the ground as the site for the National Guard Armory.  The armory has placed an armored tank on the ground and there's plenty of space for neighborhood football or soccer games.  You'll also find a small playground and large rock garden at this location.

Wildlife Sanctuary:

Located on the corner of Lynndale and Trojan Lane, this 40 acres has been used over the years as a "outdoor observation laboratory" of sorts for the local schools system.  Little has been done to disturb the natural habitat in an effort to preserve both flora and wildlife.

Other Mini Parks:

Small park areas also exist on Vine Street, in the 400 Block of North Main Street, and the 600 block of North Main Street.  These parks are currently minimally developed, however maintained with pride.  All would be a perfect for family picnics, just remember to bring a blanket as some of these areas don't have picnic tables.
