Change your Clock - Change your Batteries

Twice a year East Central Indiana residents are required to adjust the time on their clocks when Daylight Savings Time changes.  These times are excellent reminders to change the batteries in all of your smoke detectors in your home.  A smoke detector with a dead or removed battery is the same as not having a smoke detector at all.  The early warning a working smoke detector gives you may help save your life and the lives of all the occupants inside the building.  The earlier you are warned of a fire, the earlier the fire department can be on the scene and reduce the serious effects of a fire.

Spring forward, fall back. Change your clocks, change your smoke detector batteries.

Until next time, Stay Safe,
Caled Mathews

Fire Department Programs

Caleb Mathews, the public education specialist, is backed by a solid group of veteran firefighters who share their experience and fire safety knowledge.  Whether it is an organized meeting, a visit to a local school, or an impromptu tour of the station to a visitor, the New Castle Fire Department is always willing to spread the fire safety message to the citizens of our fine community.
Contact Caleb Mathews or a shift supervisor to set up a program for your group.
