Board of Works Meeting Minutes - 10/29/2012

BOARD OF WORKS

 

October 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.

 

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Greg York.

 

 

ORDER OF BUSINESS:

 

·         Director Tichenor moved to suspend the rules for the reading of the minutes and accept last week's BOW minutes.  Superintendent Ayers seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         Mayor York requested a motion to accept the Payroll, Water, Wastewater and General fund claims for the week of October 22 to October 29, 2012.   Director Tichenor moved to accept.  Superintendent Ayers seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         HR Director Thornhill presented payout #3 on the Sign Grant for approval of payment in the amount of $2,432.52.  Director Tichenor moved to approve payment.  Superintendent Ayers seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         Director Tichenor presented the following bills for payment to United Consulting from the Wastewater funds:

o        $23,900.00 for CSO Projects

o        $758.20 for CSO Long Term Control Plan

o        $810.00 for NPDES Permit renewal

o        $240.00 for MS4 requirements

o        $4,356.00 for Pre-Treatment Program requirements

Director Tichenor moved to approve payments of the 5 claims.  Superintendent Ayers seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         Sealed quotes were opened and taken under advisement by a motion from Director Tichenor, seconded by Superintendent Ayers.  Motion carried 3-0

o        Transportation room addition/remodel

§         Quality Builders                   $23,000.00

§         Ferrell Builders                     $22,855.00

o        Transportation gates

§         Thompson Equipment         $23,241.50

§         A&R Garage Door               $20,885.98

§         Olers Fencing                       $21,300.00

o        Transportation benches, tables, bike racks, stops, cans

§         Barco Products                     $5,750.12

§         Upbeat Products                  $7,152.11

·         Sealed quotes were opened for the removal of the downtown trees.

§         Earl's Tree Service               Volunteered in-kind service

Superintendent Ayers moved to accept the voluntary in-kind contribution from Earl's Tree Service for the removal of the downtown trees for the Improvement of Downtown Project.  Director Tichenor seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

 

MAYOR REPORTS

 

·         Mayor York instructed board members to review the signage information submitted and note information that needs referred to the Traffic Committee.

 

DEPARTMENT HEAD REQUESTS  

 

·         HR Director Thornhill informed the board that a snow removal list will be distributed for all CDL licensed employees to sign for overtime call in.
