BOARD OF WORKS

March 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor York

CITIZENS APPEARING:

·         Heather Wait requested information on organizing an ALS Awareness 5K Run.  Mayor York informed her that he would assist her in finding the right avenue to take in accomplishing this.

·         Dennis Hamilton, representing HOPE Initiative informed the board of the following upcoming events;

o        Spring Clean Day is April 27^th from 8 a.m. to Noon.  Mr. Hamilton informed the board that the city supplied a flatbed and trash truck in the past.  Mayor York moved to approve furnishing the equipment requested.  Director Barker seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

o        Concert Series partnering with the Arts Park to have a Fall Festival September 7^th beginning at 9 a.m. noting details would be forth coming for street closure requests at the next meeting.

ORDER OF BUSINESS:

·         Director Barker moved to approve minutes from the previous meeting.  Attorney Copenhaver seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         Director Barker made a motion to accept the Payroll, Water, Wastewater and General fund claims for the week of February 25 to March 4, 2013.   Attorney Copenhaver seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

·         Attorney Copenhaver presented and made a motion to approve the New Castle Utility Regulations and Standard Procedures Manual update, noting it had been reviewed and approved by the Utility Impact Board.  Director Barker seconded.  Motion carried 3-0

DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:

·         Deputy Building Inspector Davis presented a permit request for a handicap parking space at 1318 South 22^nd Street.  Attorney Copenhaver moved to approve the request.  Director Barker seconded.  Motion carried 3-0
