Applications for Shop With a Fireman will be accepted Nov. 1 through Dec. 1 at New Castle Fire Department Station 1, 229 N. Main St., New Castle. The event will take place at 8 a.m. Dec. 12 at the New Castle Walmart. Only children residing in Henry County are eligible to participate and income will be considered. The fire department will compare last year’s list with those of other community organizations such as Westminster and the Salvation Army. People who participated in community events or Shop With a Fireman last year are not eligible to participate in Shop With a Fireman this year, said New Castle Fire Chief Mark Boatright, Sr. For more information, call 765-521-6817.
