Board of Works Meeting Minutes - 4/15/2013
BOARD OF WORKS
April 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor York
CITIZENS APPEARING:
· Wil Ruback presented the Board with plans for the September 13th Day of Caring in coordination with the United Fund.
ORDER OF BUSINESS:
· Attorney Copenhaver moved to approve minutes from the previous meeting. Director Barker seconded. Motion carried 3-0
· Director Barker made a motion to accept the Payroll, Water, Wastewater and General fund claims for the week of April 8, to April 15, 2013. Attorney Copenhaver seconded. Motion carried 3-0
· Director Barker moved to approve the 2013 Version of the Employee Handbook. Attorney Copenhaver seconded. Motion carried 3-0
· Mayor York moved to approve the street closing for the Wilbur Wright Memorial Bike Ride scheduled for May 17, 2013. Director Barker seconded. Motion carried 3-0
· Clerk Treasurer York presented the winner of the Name the Sandwich contest from the Easter Egg Hunt informing the board that the sandwich name was Cluckin Puppy, named by Dana Buroke
MAYOR REPORTS:
· Mayor York informed all in attendance he was a new grandfather to twins Lilly and JT.
· Mayor York announced that no city funds were used in the advertisement of the Indy 500. All monies were private investors who wanted to promote New Castle on a global scale to assist in entertaining new business. Mayor York stated that there would be a "New Castle Day" during May. Attorney Copenhaver moved to authorize the Mayor to sign any and all contracts in regards to the City of New Castle and the Indy 500. Director Barker seconded. Motion carried 3-0
