Three Rivers Solid Waste Management District
State law passed in 1990 mandated that cities, towns and counties work toward reducing the amount of solid waste disposal.  The Three Rivers office is located at 1409 Broad Street.  It's mission:

1.  To safeguard our citizens from environmental threats through Tox-Away Day collection events;

2.  To protect our residents from exposure to lead, mercury and oil by collecting used motor oil and household batteries;

3.  To support local efforts to enhance the well being of our citizens and our communities by providing resources via the Arts and Scraps Reuse Center;

4.  To preserve natural resources, safe landfill space, prevent pollution and conserve energy by providing the public with recycling opportunities;

5.  To ensure that current and future generations understand the value of Indiana's natural resources through educational programming.
